Ashley Spencer's Family

Organized by Ashley Spencer Memorial Fund

The Check
Well, we raised $8,050.00 to help Peter and the kids. PayPal ate up close to $300, but without them this wouldn't have been possible.

Here'sa link to an image of the check I'll be giving to Peter on Sunday, Januray 27, 2008:

Thank you so much!
We have raised $8,050 for Ashley's family. I will be posting a copy of the cashier's check next week after the funds transfer. It will be less than the amount donated due to PayPayl taking their fees, but it will be substantial and make a big difference to Ashley's husband and her children.
A word from Ashley's Sister
Though I struggle with finding the words,I want to convey my deep appreciation to everyone for your kind words and donations in honor of my sister Ashley. She used to call me her "idol",but the truth is that she has always been mine. I am truly moved and in awe to know that Ashley touched so many lives. I wish I could find the words...for the moment, please accept, "Thank you."
Sincerely, Cresta Lee Brewer

We Met the Goal But We Can Keep this Going!
The outpouring to Ashley's family has been tremendous. One thing I have noticed is that PayPal takes a fee for each donation. I guess that's the cost of doing business. So I would like to extend the goal to $6,000. I hope you all can help reach that goal.
A wonderful Posting about Ashley from a British Writer in November
Englishman George Bolam wrote this beautiful piece about his experience with Ashley Spencer:

"Something pretty unusual occurred in the annals of Twitter, in just the last few days. The select little band of people who surround my Twitter experience, whose names follow me around, in both my on-line and off-line existence, like some sort of amorphous â??Tagâ?? cloud, were added to, by what I can only describe as an infant associate â??Tweeterâ??. Lucy." Click the link below to read the rest.

Who's Running This?
I didn't think much about making a big deal about setting this site up to help Peter, Toby, and Lucy, but I think for matters of accountability I should introduce myself. My name is Dan Mosqueda. I am a Defense Analyst at a small company in Colorado. I am also a reservist in the USAF.

I know Ashley from twittering with her. I found her to be a wonderful person who shared her soul with us. We learned to enjoy her stories of being pregnant, raising Toby, and Lucy. I can't put a finger on it, but she was very loveable.
